Creating a Pricebook using Dates

You must have the pricebook feature enabled on your account. If you would like the feature enabled, contact Stax Bill Support.

1. Navigate to Catalog in Stax Bill.
2. Click Create Pricebook.
3. On the Pricebook Create page, give a name and/or description for the Pricebook.
4. Select Yes to use a date-based pricebook.
5. On the Default Pricing section, enter a default price. This price will be applied if none of the Pricebook entries below match. You can also configure Tiered, Stairstep, or Volume pricing defaults. You can also set a Pricebook upper price limit by turning on Pricebook upper limit and entering a maximum value. 
6. On the Pricebook Entries section, click Add Entry.
7. Enter a start date and the pricing. Add pricing for any currencies you have configured. You can add a date in the future or past. However, no changes will be made to existing subscriptions for past dates. Previous dates can be used to record past pricing.
8. Repeat for any other dates you would like to include.

Once you have set your pricebooks, you can set the catalog plan products to use a pricebook.

1. Navigate to Catalog and click Plans.
2. Select the plan you wish to use in a Pricebook.
3. Click on the product to open the Product Edit page.
4. On the product pricing, select Pricebook. Then select the Pricebook to use.
5. Click Save. 

Stax Bill will now use the Pricebook and determine the price based on the dates in the Pricebook.

To use the Pricebook to update pricing based on dates, you can use the price refresh feature to check at specified intervals. See Creating a Frequency on a Plan, Expiry Date, and Price Reset for more information.
