Notifying a customer of your Self-Service Portal can be automated within the Stax Bill system. This allows customers to manage their accounts and can allow customers to use the offering pages to purchase or upgrade their services. The following describes how you can automate the system as well as how you can notify customers of a newly activated portal or, if you do not notify customers when they are activated, how to notify them later.
Prerequisite
You must have your Self-Service Portal active or live before notifying customers.
Automating Notifications to New Customers
When you activate and have a live portal, you can have an email notification sent out when a new customer is activated. To set this up, complete the following:
- Navigate to Setting >Branding >Outgoing Emails.
- From the Outgoing Emails page, click Customer Credential Create.
- Turn On the email send and make any changes you like. Click Refresh to preview the outgoing email.
- Click Save.
- On the Outgoing email page, ensure that the Customer Credential Password Reset is also Enabled so that if a customer forgets their password, they can request a reset automatically.
Sending notifications for the Self-Service Portal
If you had not activated the portal emails or had not activated the portal and have already activated customers, they will not receive emails about the portal credentials. To notify customers who have already been activated but do not have portal credentials, complete the following.
To email activated customers, you can use the Jobs function to send these emails.
- Navigate to Jobs >Imports >Create Import.
- On the Import Type, select Customer, and Send Customer Credential Create Email for Action Type.
- Click Next.
- Click Export starting data file.
- Open the downloaded file to confirm the customers. You can verify and remove any customers that already have a Customer SSP User Name. Save the file.
- Repeat the steps 1-3 and then click to upload the file.
- After validation, the job will be queued to run.
Note: If you need to send credentials to only a small number of customers, you can navigate to the customer overview page, click Portal and then click Send Credentials in the top right-hand corner.
