You can ask Stax Bill to allow your customers to manage renewals on expiring subscriptions through the SSP. This is an account setting; contact Stax Bill Support to have it enabled and configured.
Note that you will need to configure the Expiry Management settings (see Creating Plans) on your Plans and/or Subscriptions and the Pending Expiry Email Notifications for the SSP renewal to work properly. Review the notes in these sections to ensure the workflow functions as expected.
Here is the workflow once these items have been configured:
-
The Pending Expiry email notification will be sent out when the customer's subscription is nearing expiry. This email contains a one-time-use login link which will direct them back to the SSP to renew their subscription.
Note: You can configure how many days before expiry this email will be sent out, per frequency type (for example, 7 days for a monthly and 30 days for a yearly).
- The customer will see a Renew Now button on the SSP next to the expiring subscription.
- You can also ask Stax Bill to configure whether this Renew Now button is always available or if it only shows up a certain amount of time before the subscription expires. Note that if using the latter option, you should ensure that the Renew Now button will always be visible on the SSP when the customer receives the Pending Expiry email. The recommendation is to set them to be the same or set the SSP button to appear before the expiry email is sent out.
- Stax Bill can also customize the text of the button if desired.
-
When the customer clicks the Renew Now button, the subscription's expiry date is automatically extended by the number of periods specified in the Default Renewal Extension field on the Subscription.
Note: The value of this field is set as a default at the Plan level but can be overridden on individual subscriptions at the customer level. See Subscribing a Customer to a Plan for more information.
